All of our classes at Pat’s School of Dance & Gymnastics will assist your child in developing their basic motor skills and self-confidence as they progress through their formative years and beyond. Ballet:

Ballet is the foundation of all types of dance. Ballet encourages proper dance technique, posture and muscular strength. Dancers are introduced to the positions and names of classical dance steps. Younger dancers focus on movement in ballet which includes fine motor skill development. Ballet classes also introduce barre work which is the basic warm-up used by ballet dancers. These classes focus on technical skills and steps, and perform a ballet dance to showcase the skills learned over the year.
Ballet classes start at the beginning level at age 3 through advanced. Ballet classes require ballet shoes, leotard and tights. Shoe styles and colors are specified in the Studio Handbook
Jazz:

Jazz is a fun, high-energy form of dance set to upbeat, popular music. Jazz classes incorporate freestyle ballet with jumps, turns, and performance techniques. Hip-hop is introduced at the intermediate level through advanced. We use clean, age-appropriate pop music for each class.
Jazz classes start at the beginning level age 5 through advanced. Jazz classes require ballet shoes or jazz shoes and leotard and tights or athletic clothing. Shoe styles and colors are specified in the Studio Handbook.
Tap:

Tap dance is a dance style performed wearing shoes with special metal “taps” on the bottoms. Tap classes teach students musicality and coordination, and also help to strengthen memory. Students will learn tap technique as well as terminology. At the recital, tap dances showcase combinations of tap steps set to music.
Tap classes start at the beginning level at age 3 through adult. Tap classes require tap shoes, leotard and tights or athletic clothing. Shoe styles and colors are specified in the Studio Handbook.
Floor gymnastics:

Our gymnastics classes are designed to teach students the basics of gymnastics. Students learn coordination while also building their strength. Skills learned in gymnastics classes range from forward rolls to back handsprings and back tucks. This class is a great option for students interested in cheerleading.
Gymnastics classes start at the beginning level at age three through advanced. Gymnastics classes require bare feet and leotard or athletic clothing.

Hip Hop:

Hip hop is a high-energy class that infuses the latest styles of dancing while rooting in the principles of dance. Classes will encourage students to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style and personality to the movements.
